ILM Highland has been named winner of The Stemovators Good Neighbour Award at the 2026 Prosper Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards, recognising its commitment to communities across the Highlands.
The award was presented at the annual Prosper Highlands and Islands Business Excellence Awards at the Drumossie Hotel in Inverness, where more than 300 finalists, guests and business leaders came together to celebrate organisations and individuals making an impact across the region.
ILM Highland CEO Martin MacLeod and Board Member Sarah Downes attended the ceremony and accepted the award on behalf of the whole ILM Highland team.
The Stemovators Good Neighbour Award celebrates a business or organisation that demonstrates an exceptional record of community engagement and positive local impact. It recognises meaningful community outreach, partnership working and initiatives that create lasting benefits for the people and places they serve.
For ILM Highland, that makes this award particularly special.
For more than 30 years, ILM Highland has worked to make a practical difference to communities across the region, combining environmental responsibility with services designed around local needs.
From giving household appliances a second life through reuse and refurbishment, to helping people remain safe and independent in their own homes through its Home Safety and Independence services, ILM Highland’s work reaches communities throughout the Highlands.
That commitment can also be seen through initiatives such as the Repair Café, which brings communities together to repair everyday items, share skills and reduce waste, alongside ILM Highland’s wider work to make reuse, recycling and more sustainable choices accessible to more people.

The 2026 awards attracted a record number of nominations across seven categories, celebrating leadership, innovation, sustainability, skills development and purposeful business throughout the Highlands and Islands.
