Welcome to ILM Highland
ILM Highland is an independent social enterprise with charitable status. It was set up in 1994 to help people into sustainable employment: the ‘Intermediate Labour Market’, which is where the initials for our company name ‘ILM’ originate.
In addition, ILM delivers a Waste Electrical Recycling and Reuse service for the Highland area, collecting and recycling some 2,400 tonnes of electrical waste annually. Our Electrical Retail Outlet sells a wide selection of new and reconditioned electrical appliances, including washing machines, tumble dryers, cookers, fridges and freezers. Goods can be bought and taken away on the same day; we also offer a home delivery service and recycling of your old machine.
Over the years, ILM has successfully forged strong partnerships and links across the North of Scotland. These have included local authorities, the HIE network, housing associations, and increasingly the business sector. Success has been achieved through an approach based on partnership working. By winning contracts and service level agreements as well as building up other income streams, the company has been able to deliver a range of services that have provided real benefit to the Highlands of Scotland.
We strive to be a self-sustaining social enterprise. Over the years, ILM has therefore moved away from a grant-funding regime, preferring to focus on earned income and delivering services through contracting. By doing this, ILM can meet its corporate objectives in a sustainable way.
May 2019 – ILM raises £625 for MFR Cash for Kids through birthday activities, including coffee morning and raffle.
April 2019 – ILM turns 25 years old … Happy Birthday!
