ILM was originally set up in Easter Ross but now delivers work throughout the North of Scotland including the Highland Council area (Ross-shire, Sutherland, Lochaber, Caithness, Skye and Lochalsh, Inverness, Nairn and Badenoch) and Moray.
Care and Repair Service
ILM has been running the Care and Repair service in Ross-shire and Sutherland since 1994. The service is supported by funding from the Highland Council. Each year the service benefits around 350 older people and those with a disability, while helping to improve some 200 houses.
The Handyperson service has been operating in Sutherland and Ross-shire since 2004. The service is supported by funding from the Highland Council and NHS Highland. On average around 7000 jobs are completed per year, improving people’s quality of life as well as reducing hazards around the home.
Waste Electrical Recycling Service
The Waste Electrical Recycling service collects and recycles around 2,400 tonnes of waste electrical equipment annually from across the Highlands. Through our Waste Electrical recycling service, ILM operates a retail outlet for the sale of refurbished and new electrical goods at our base in Alness.
ILM Highland makes an important contribution to the implementation of the Highlands Area Waste Strategy.
